• CELEBRATE “FAMILY HISTORY MONTH” 

  • Bring your family and have FUN at the St. George Family Search Center for a special Oakwood Ward T&FH Workshop, “The FamilySearch Olympics”, Tues, October 17, at 7:00 pm!

  • Did you know that October is officially Family History Month? This designation goes back more than 20 years, just 2 and a half weeks after the traumatic events of 9/11. The bill passed by the United States Senate (SR 160, 107th Congress, 2001-2002) includes a long list of reasons why October should be Family History Month, including this statement:

    • “Whereas individuals learn about their ancestors who worked so hard and sacrificed so much, their commitment to honor their ancestors’ memory by doing good is increased; Whereas interest in our personal family history transcends all cultural and religious affiliations...”

• Ward Choir starts Sept 10. We will be meeting from 3:45-4:30pm in the Primary Room. Text @oakwchoir to 81010 to sign up for text reminders on the day of rehearsals .

• The Las Vegas Temple will be closed from Monday, July 24-October 23, 2023. Increased temple attendance is anticipated at the Cedar City Temple during the three-month closure.
